I have the Red Version and It cool! At the start Ash...or you will be standing there throwing a pokeball up and down! I you do not press start, different Poke`mon will appear on the screen! If you press start when a Poke`mon is on the screen you will here the Poke`mon's cry!

The starting poke`mon:
At the beginning of the game you will try to leave Pallet town but Pro. Oaks stops you. He takes you back to his lab to pick out a Poke`mon. Gary, or whatever you named him will be there. Choose your Poke`mon wizley!!
Bulbasaur: a leaf type Poke`mon. Is best against rock Poke`mon. in the first gym Brock is a rock-type trainer.
Squirtle: a water-type Poke`mon, Also It is very good against rock-type and fire Poke`mon. If you choose Squirtle beware of electric Poke`mon
Charmander: a fire-type Poke`mon. Not as good against rock as the others buthas strong normal attacks. If you choose Charmander beware of water-type Poke`mon
Now that you chose your Poke`mon your journey begins!
